Pip and Naz are the founders of Tonic Retreats, specialists in boutique luxury yoga retreats in the UK, Morocco and Sri Lanka. Our partner venue for the day will be Dorset’s grandest hotel, 10 Castle Street, Cranborne. Brimming with opulence and art it’s a unique and luxurious setting to enjoy a day of yoga, mindfulness and self-love.

Description of the day 

This one day yoga retreat takes place around the Spring equinox, a time of reflection and harmony. After a long winter, we will spend the day sharing practices to recalibrate our bodies and minds and set positive intentions for the new Spring season. The equinox signifies the earth’s balance, with equal hours of day and night, and so represents the perfect time to fully shed the slower energy of the winter and move into a new season of vitality. 

We will spring clean and reawaken our bodies through a mindful yoga practice combining heart-opening and grounding postures. Through breath-work and meditation we will steady the mind to prepare us for clear intention and goal setting.

A delicious 3 course vegetarian lunch will be served, designed by Head Chef Bill Keera at 10 Castle Street, using the hotel’s own garden and local organic produce.   After which there will be time for a walk in the grounds (weather permitting) or relaxation by the fire.  

The afternoon will see us taking the opportunity to examine where we are in life at this moment. After setting new year resolutions, you may feel that the year so far hasn’t brought you all that you had hoped for, so this is a great chance to "start over." Where had you hoped to be by March? What hasn’t quite worked to plan, and what can you do to bring change so you can move forward?  We will share how to evaluate the areas in your life that need the most rebalancing and give you the tools to move forward with real progression.

The final part of the day will focus on deep relaxation, using Yoga Nidra techniques and Sound Bath healing.  We will emerge from our Yoga Nidra practice and move into our loving kindness meditation.

We will close the day with our final intention setting and enjoy warming teas and treats before heading home.

This retreat is suitable for beginners and experienced yogis, and anyone seeking balance!
